Smallmarketmen (Dec 18 '18): Bridesmaid sheesh..... Nice job Mike. Happy holidays, see you again in the New Year. Mike (Dec 17 '18): Wow, I actually had a good week for once! sparky and I tied for first for the week with 9. Please pay no attention that I picked all home teams (except Calgary). Total coincidence. And that concludes our weekly NHL pick'em until the new year. cneilson wins the overall title for our free pool, 5 points clear of Smallmarketmen in 2nd and even more points than the rest of us. Happy Holidays all! We'll take a break and return in the New Year for more hockey picks! Mike (Dec 9 '18): Not an easy week! 6 of 10 right wins it, and that goes to Capeislander who hit exactly right on the tie-breaker edging out Eugenius and Dexterdoodle3000. Wow, yeah, only 3 people scored more than 50%. That's bad. We only have one week to go before this pool closes, and we will break and return in the New Year. cneilson holds down 1st overall with 70. ccstyles and Smallmarketmen are the closest to him at 66. Mike (Dec 3 '18): Wow, big tie this week with a lot of people getting 8 right. antique roadshow and Dexterdoodle3000 officially win the week being closest on the tie-breaker at 4 goals for what turned out to be a 2-1 Oilers victory over the Golden Knights. Bet the Western Conference would have been quite happy if the talented Oilers kept their old coaching staff a little longer, eh? Mike (Nov 26 '18): 8 is probably my best week in a while but still 2 off the leaders, sparky and tomcatmc, who tie on the tie-breaker... neither particularly close on the total goals. Really, 8, tomcatmc? That closes out November with cnielson in 1st overall with 59, followed by ccstyles, NelsonRonaldo and sparky each with 55. I might be last of members that actually made picks every week. Yikes. pacepanther (Nov 25 '18): I attended the Leafs Flyers game last night. Shoulders are sore from all the hand magnets. Mike (Nov 19 '18): CelticRules wins the week with 9! cneilson opens up a 4 point cushion on ccstyles for the overall title. I am going to run this pool until before Christmas (probably the 15th will be the last Saturday), and then take a break, start a new one in the New Year. Mike (Nov 12 '18): Our resident hockey expert - cneilson - wins his second week in a row! I think I should start looking at your picks in advance and place some bets! Mike (Nov 5 '18): cneilson wins the week with 10! bsecanada and NelsonRonaldo just behind with 9 points. bsecanada was in the minority backing the Maple Leafs over the Penguins on Saturday. Checking the overall board, cneilson now has top spot by 1 over ccstyles, who is in second by 1 over Smallmarketmen, also 1 ahead of sparky. Its a close race but many games to go! Mike (Oct 27 '18): That would be awesome. Thanks so much for the offer! I will email you my address, see what we can work out. Smallmarketmen (Oct 26 '18): Hey Mike...………...I have two Dallas Cowboys fall jackets with hoods I could donate to your prize pool for NFL pools. I am not in the NFL pool but have the jackets to donate . Where do I send? Provided I do not take a huge hit on postage tor courier to get them to you of course. Mike (Oct 22 '18): So I keep checking the Vegas spreads to help make my picks each week and that clearly isn't working. Makes me think I should just put money on all of the underdogs. Congrats Ditka on the weekly win! ccstyles and szuram share the top spot overall through three weeks! Mike (Oct 21 '18): Holy I would have been better picking completely opposite. Mike (Oct 15 '18): Yikes, terrible week for me. Missed the first 3 games. Then dropped three in a row early, and the last three. Congrats szuram for winning the week by scoring 10 right and hitting the tie-breaker exactly at 5, half a goal closer than ccstyles and full goal from Smallmarketmen. Mike (Oct 9 '18): Thanks for joining our free NHL pick'em pool! mladen_step takes the first week all alone with 10 right on not an easy week! Almost everyone got the Pens and Leafs wrong at a minimum. I need to add trophies or icons for weekly winners. That would be good. It is on the to-do list. Pick reminder emails should start this week. Mike (Sep 25 '18): I still have a few packs of Tim Horton's hockey cards from last year, and if they do that again this year, then I will allocate some of those to the winner. Yes, still have my Iced Capp addiction. If anyone wants to donate a prize for any of our pools then let me know.
